Hola me llamo Lily Zepeda, Yo estoy en Adelante desde 2003, y enseño el Primer Grado. Es un placer trabajar en una escuela donde se valora la riqueza de dos culturas y las une en una sola. Los profesores aquí son excelentes, las familias muy dedicadas y los estudiantes muestran interés al aprendizaje.

Primer Grado es donde los estudiantes empiezan hacer más independientes. Hay mucho que aprender y ellos muestran ser muy competentes. En matemáticas, los estudiantes aprenden a contar, escribir y a leer del 1 al 100. Además realizan sumas, restas y a resolver problemas. Agrupan números en decenas y unidades, leen el reloj, usan el dinero e identifican formas geométricas y mucho más.

En lenguaje los estudiantes empezarán a desarrollar habilidades de lectura y escritura por medio de lecciones en grupos, grupos pequeños y lecciones guiadas. Las lecciones se enfocaran en fonética, la escritura y comunicación oral utilizando oraciones completas además de la fkuidez de la comprensión de lectura.

Me siento afortunada y emocionada este ciclo escolar de primer grado y estoy segura que los niños también.

My name is Lily Zepeda and I teach First Grade. I have been at Adelane since 2003. It is a pleasure to work at a school that values the richness of two cultures and unites them into one. The teachers here are excellent. The parents are very supportive and the students show an interest in learning.

As first Grade students become more independent, they show that they are capable of learning more.

In Math, students learn to count, read and write the numbers 1-100, add and subtract, solve problems, group numbers in tens and units, tell time, use money, and identify geometric shapes.

In Language Arts, there is much to learn. Students will begin to develop reading and writing skills through whole group, small group, and guided lessons. Lessons will be focused on speaking and writing complete sentences, phonics, fluency, and comprehension.

I feel very excited about this year in First Grade. I am sure the students will too!
